Out of Bounds and The BSB

Saturday morning I had one of those golf games where it would have been better if I had stayed in bed. My game started decently well with a couple of pars and a birdie on the front nine. I actually made some money (whats golf without betting) from the others in my flight, then it just went south.

Right... Right... Right...

That seemed to be the only direction my ball would go. I was striking the ball well, It just wouldn't go the correct direction. I couldn't hit on the fairway for the life of me. "Out of Bounds!!" were the words my golfing partners gleefully shouted on almost every hole on the back nine. I played 18-over for the second nine!!! Thats more than my handicap!!

To complete the mindnumbing golf I played, one song was stuck in my head through out the golf game. Actually, it was more like the chorus kept on repeating in my head.

I’ve tried to go on like I never knew you
I’m awake but my world is half asleep
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I’m going to be is incomplete

'Incomplete' by the Backstreet Boys. WTF!!! Why did Hitz.fm have to play that song when I was reaching the golf club?!?!

p/s: eventually I lost all the $$ I made from the first nine plus a lot more.

Metrosexuality

There has been many a conversation on whether one is just a good dresser, a closet gay or a metrosexual. I use cufflinks, colour my hair at a salon (yes its salon and not saloon, saloons are where cowboys go to get drunk and hit on whores), use hair and facial products but ultimately I just enjoy looking good.

Does that make me a metrosexual? I still love my sports and I am obviously not a closet gay as I am married with a kid. Anyway, I’ve loved the female species for as long as can remember. Buying a pink, lilac or fushia shirt as posted in Roadies blog could create even more unwanted confusion. Not that I have.

As usual, when in doubt, Liquid Generation will have a solution quiz for you. I live in metropolitan KL and am quite sexual, so I took the test.

There you go!! I’m sort of Metrosexual. I guess Liquid Generation is right again.

The Waiting Game

Does anyone realise how much we have to wait in a day?

We order food, we wait. We press the up/down button, we wait. We turn on the PC, we wait. We want to pay something, we wait. Now, I'm a very patient person but I hate to wait. It might sound contradictory but its true. To put it simple, I have a high tolerance for waiting although its one of my main peeves. Play golf with me and you'll understand.

Yesterday, I went to my job interview and everything went well. The only issue was my pay demand, even then the interviewer was going to fight for what I asked for from Management. I was on top of the list of prospective candidates but they had one more person to interview. So, at the end of the interview I was told to wait. "We will call you".

I hate to wait!! I guess i'll have to tolerate it like I wait for anything else. Duh!!

Interview Phone Call

As some of you know I’ve been bitching about my job ever since I started this blog. Well, at 9am this morning I received a phone call for an employment interview. What a perfect way to start the morning. I know that it is just an interview and not a confirmed job offer but at least it’s an opportunity.

The best thing about the interview is that the company is one of my biggest accounts in the bank. I can just imagine my bosses face if I told her that I’m leaving to go to them. Anyway, I will only be able to tell her that should all go well this evening when I meet up with the prospective employer.

Even if I don’t get the job at least I am starting to get interviews again. There have been at least 4 companies that have asked for my CV and all of them say that they are interested to meet with me but to date this is the first call I have received. Hopefully this first one is an indication of things to come. If I don’t get this job and no other company calls me, I guess I’m just destined to be a Banker.

ps: Now I need to get a haircut during lunch hour, my hair is a mess and the colour is now uneven since its grown (yes, I do colour my hair).

Damn Streamyx!!!

Yes, the inevitable happened. On Friday my Streamyx just went KAPUT. I had it instaled for 10 days and suddenly, while surfing, it just disconnected. I tried everything but couldn't get back online. Now, I have to check my sports results daily, there's always a sporting event somewhere in the world especially on a weekend. This weekend I couldn't, didn't even know that the Aussies won the first test at Lords until I read the papers on Monday.

To make matters worse, I am on course and have no access to the Internet during the day. Oh well, I guess thats life in the modern day world. They (streamyx) said they'd come tommorrow to fix it. They'd better!!

***********************************************

Although a bit late, due to the Streamyx problem above, I would like to congratulate all the winners from last weekend. Fernando Alonso, The Australian Cricket team, Valentino Rossi and most of all 7-time TdF winner Lance Armstrong all deserve special mention.

Also a special shout out to world No. 3 Nicol David. Currently, she is Malaysia's top sportsperson no matter what anyone says.

Whats Wrong with PORN??

There’s this new advertisement campaign on the radio that states that porn is bad… basically it says that “it gets in your wallet and fucks up your morals”…

Come on…. how bad can porn be? I started watching porn when I was 8 or 9. That didn’t turn me into a serial rapist, pedophile or sex maniac. If anything, I learned from it. Anyway, my point is, why is the Government going all out against porn. I say use that money towards better causes, say education or health.

It is better to educate people on safe sex than to sweep anything remotely connected to sex under the carpet. Why is that the number of teenage pregnancies are increasing,? Why do incest still happen in the new millennium? Why do abandon babies still headline the newpapers every few months? Why? Its not because of porn!!! Its lack of an education system to teach the young about sex. Think about it, where did you learn about sex??

Now, 20+ years later, I still watch porn and have quite a decent collection…. And I’m still not a pervert, sex maniac, rapist, etc... So “DON’T BAN PORN!!!, DON’T BAN PORN!!!”

When I'm Interested and Motivated....

(1) I excert more than the required 100%;
(2) I take the initative to learn;
(3) I find time no matter how busy I am in order to succeed;
(4) I enjoy what I'm doing no matter what;
(5) I don't care what people say or think;
(6) As Nike says.. I Just Do It.

What prompted this??

Well, every year (for the last 5 years) I have been running a Fantasy EPL League with trophy & prize money. The League has grown to 32 teams last season and is very-very competitive. The whole morning I have been creating a blog and doing other research for this coming season. All this while being swamped with work....

Somehow item (1) to (6) above does not happen when I'm doing my required job function...

When the Cats Away...

Today, my senior, direct boss and utlimate boss are not in the office. The are away in Penang for a meeting.

This is what I will do in the office today:

(1) Come in late (done-came in at 10am)
(2) Learn more HTML in order to modify this blog
(done-have changed the colours and text justifications, will try more later)
(3) Not do any work (so far so good)
(4) Have a Long lunch (KLCC or Sg. Wang sounds good)
(5) Surf, surf and surf the Web until I run out of things to surf.
(6) Go home early

From this list it can be seen that I still have very little motivation to work.

Not A Bad Weekend

It started Friday night with some drinks (3 bottles of Black Label) with some friends. Drank a pretty decent amount but most importantly got to ‘chill’. I also realized that I’m glad I’m not single anymore. Hanging out with single, ‘searching’ friends makes you realize that being married has just as many advantages as being single…

Finally got to play golf on Saturday morning. Played with by best mate, my best mate’s wife’s best friends husband and his long time friend. By the halfway point of the game I came to a conclusion that I should have stayed in bed that morning. I don’t know if it was the alcohol from the night before or all the waiting we had to do between shots (bloody course was packed) but I played a crap game…. only got 3 pars… but worst of all lost the betting all around.

The rest of the weekend was just family time and watching sports. In the sporting world, I saw two of the best sportsmen in the world, Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong completely show their class in their sports. Tiger won The Open and his second Major of the year by a comfortable five strokes where he led from start to finish and Lance just overpowered everyone to stretch his yellow jersey lead in the Pyrenees. Both of them had people attacking them constantly be it in the mountains or on the relatively flat grounds of St Andrews but both defended the attacks only to surge ahead with their own attacks when those chasing ‘took a breather’. The only difference, their attacks worked and totally demolished the pack physically and mentally.

On a more somber note, Jack Nicklaus, the greatest golfer ever (until Tiger beats all his records) played his final Open Championship. The Golden Bear leaves the game with and amazing 18 Majors to his name. I grew up watching and wanting to be Jack Nicklaus, read his book and respected the man. He revolutionized the game as Tiger is doing now and will forever be one of the greatest ever.

Malaysia Developed??

We still have along way to go before we become a fully developed country. Why?, you might ask, although we have the biggest, longest, (fill in)est, man made structures in the world, sociologically we still have a long way to go.

What triggered this statement is what happened in front of me this morning. See, I hate litter bugs. Its one of my main peeves (thanks Dad*). It was in a typical morning jam on the Sg. Besi Hwy and the idiot 2 cars in front of me threw what seemed like his trash from home out the window. He must have been so proud that his plastic bag flew straight in to the monsoon drain 20 feet away. This just demonstrates how big and heavy the trash was as if it was small and light it wouldn’t have traveled the distance.

I felt like picking up the trash and throwing it back to his car. I bet he would probably be the first person to complain of flooding due to rain. Dumb idiot!!

Here my theory on why this happens. While the country was engrossed in tangible developments like having the tallest building, a super corridor, world class ports, etc. It forgot about developing the people. Infrastructure wise we developed at a great pace. What took the Europeans and Americans a couple hundred years took us 40 years but sociologically we are still pretty much left behind. Courtesy and respect towards other beings is irrelevant, what is relevant is self satisfaction. How many times have you heard someone say “Thank You’ or “Excuse Me”. In a fully developed country you would hear it an uncountable amount of times a day from your bus driver to your boss but not here. Here, its like saying “Terima Kasih” is a taboo.

I just hope that sociologically we will catch up to the rest of our development. Then only will we be fully developed and able to compete on the world stage.

80's Music and Me

Personally I believe that I’m very up to date with my music but lately I’ve been listening to 80’s music MP3’s in the office and somehow I find it a lot more relaxing than listening to the current top 40 hits. My playlist include Rick Springfield, Human League, Falco, The Alarm, A-ha, etc.

Am I getting old? Will I soon listen to Light & Easy? Will I be like my parents and complain that the music now is not music but 'noise'... why has this suddenly happened? Is there a part of your brain that just switches on/off when you reach a certain age??.. NOOOOO!!!

Oh my god!!.. Tiffany is in my headphones now!!!…

Children behave… that’s what they say when were together….
Running just as fast as we can...

Holding on to one anothers hand..
Trying to get away into the night..
And then you put your arms around me and we tumble to the ground and then you say....
I think we’re alone now….
There doesn't seem to be anyone around....

Ahhh... music was so simple and happy back then....

Less Than 10 Minutes

That’s the amount of time I’ve spent with my 4 month old daughter in the past 2 days… This is because I have a disciplined baby that sleeps at 6.30pm-7.30pm everyday until very early in the morning. Yesterday due to a meeting in Wangsa Maju that ended at 6pm and the ensuing typical KL traffic chaos after the rain, I arrived home at only 7.40pm. By that time my daughter was asleep. Its been the same for the past 2 days.

I know it quite typical of young KL executives to see very little of their growing baby. I know of people that wake up their baby from sleep just so that they can spend time with them… I don’t think this should be the way. A good quality of life and a strong family should not play second fiddle to your career.

The government wonders why we have more and more delinquents in the school system…. Well, the lack of family togetherness and support is one of the most important factors… With our fucked up traffic jams and longish working hours it is no wonder that more and more kids are left unsupervised (or with the maid). Furthermore, people like me have to work Saturdays!! Where is the work-life balance?!?

Efficient Malaysian Service!!

Giving credit where its due…

I received a surprising phone call earlier this morning from TM. I registered for Streamyx last week and they said “we will install it sometime next week, if we don’t call you by Thursday, please call us…”

This is Malaysia so I assumed I will have had to call them on Friday for installation sometime the next week. To my surprise they wanted to come right over to install (Its only Monday!!)… now for the first time in recent memory I had to delay efficient Malaysian service. This is as my PC is at the shop getting ‘cleaned’ (too much downloaded porn) and upgraded. Now I only hope they will come tomorrow and install Streamyx…

Uninspired

Its Monday morning again!! …. Not the most inspiring day of the week.. I’ll try to get myself inspired but I doubt if it’ll work..

Anyway, today we got a new boss… after almost 6 months without a division head we finally have one… he seems pretty ok… no more running around like headless chickens I guess…

Lets see... what did I do over the weekend? I pretty much did everything I posted on Friday except for play some sports… was supposed to play some sort of sport be it tennis or squash but my best mate called and said he had a bad back… another mate has a bad knee… I guess that happens once all your friends become thirty-somethings… at least I won their money on the gin rummy table….

Waste of Time

I have sucsessfully wasted 3 hours this morning by surfing one blog after another.. I would like to thank The J's sister's blog for providing me to a link for a game that has gotten me stuck for the last 1 hour...

Link is http://www.fasco-csc.com/works/viridian/index_e.php

Dear BNM: This is what a majority of Bankers are going to do on a Saturday... Waste Time...
oh well...

I'm in the office and theres nothing I can do about it... This is what I plan to do for the rest of my so called weekend...

(1) Play some sort of sport... tennis, golf or squash.
(2) Play Gin Rummy tonight... hopefully win some money.
(3) Go to mom-inlaws for lunch Sunday...
(4) Upgrade my PC at home... need to increace the RAM...
(5) Take passport size photo... there are people after my resume.. :))
(6) Just Chill....

Shit!! thats a lot to do in 1 1/2 days...

Oh… I remember when I was 15..

During the holidays I would play golf in the morning, go to the Piccadilly Tea Dance in the evening and try to sneak into Phase 2 at night… Life was so simple being 15

Yesterday, I was watching the John Deere Golf Tournament, a Men’s PGA Event. Most of the coverage was not for any of the male pro’s but a 15 year old girl… Michelle Wie, she’s 15 and playing in a men’s event. The poise and character she showed were way above that of her age. Her post match interview was very-very classy and intelligent. Her wit and charisma was also way above her age… She would put to shame any local sports ‘star' we have in this country. To top it off, her score was the best in her flight, better than the other 2 Men in her group. She shot a –1.

These sports phenoms are getting younger and younger these days…

Note to brain: (1) Play more golf!! (2) Make sure daughter gets interested in golf to give competition to Wie in 15 years time…

WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING IN THE OFFICE!!!! ARGHH!!! .. ITS A SATURDAY!!!!

Haloscan ate my comments...

I changed my comments to use haloscan.com and all my previous commetnts vanished... Well I guess its all in the name of progress...

What Weekend??

For most people it’s the end of the working week. That would mean most people would go home this evening relaxed, excited and some really-really drunk as the weekend has started… but not us Bankers!! We go back pissed off (although some still do go back drunk), Why the hell do we need to work on Saturdays??

Firstly, Its inefficient as its for only half the day. Furthermore, for Corporate Banking people like me, we have no one to liase with, all our clients and lawyers don’t work Saturdays!! So whats there to do??? have a long breakfast and read the papers??...

The reasoning given by ‘higher authority’ is that people do banking on Saturdays…. C’mon, how many people actually do banking on Saturday?!?! Most people spend time with their families, asleep or playing golf on Saturday mornings not do Banking. I would rather do one of the three too... Even the civil servants work 5 days now!!

Also, by the time we get home on Saturday its around 3pm… have a shower, rest a bit, play with my kid… and the next thing you know its Sunday!!.. WTF!! I have to work again tomorrow?!?!? That’s not a weekend!! That’s a day off!!

ps: still not happy with my job and another reason for me to leave it.... why oh why did I specialise in Banking in University??... should have done something sports related

Reality of the World Today

Just got home from work and watching BBC. London has just been 'bombed'. 6 explosions around some of the busiest areas of London. Sad but True....

Just one day after celebrating their London sucsessful bid for Olympics 2012 it gets bombed. Is this the reality we will have to live through for the rest of our lives?? What about the life of my daughter?? God willing, she has to face the world a lot longer after I cease to.

When Pathetic Piranha's Attack

Time : This Morning
Place : Somewhere in KL

Chairman: ”Thank you for attending the xxth AGM for..”

I looked back and the floor was empty…. There were at least 250 people /shareholders behind me earlier… suddenly I realized, it’s the “kiasu” attitude… they had all gone to ‘attack’ the refreshments…

Being a Banker and guest of the Company for the AGM I hung around, shook hands with the relevant people, had small talk (which I hate the most) then politely went to see where the refreshments were…. Holy Shit!!!… it was like dropping a leg of a cow into a piranha infested lake… people were rushing and grabbing food all over the buffet spread… there was no queue… food wasn’t even in the serving dishes anymore, some were spread on the table… people were walking away from the table knocking into chairs as they could'nt see where they were going because the pile of food on their plate was so high it had blocked their line of sight (slight dramatization).....

I was thinking “these people are ‘shareholders’ of the company, they’ve got to have some sort of money to buy the shares… ” it was actually quite pathetic on how kiasu these people were… I guess their attitude is since its free and I’m a shareholder, I’m going to grab as much free food as I can…. If Bob Geldof saw this, and didn’t know that they were shareholders he would have done another charity concert just for them because they looked like they haven’t eaten in months….

If only these people has the same passion and attitude towards sports (the ‘kiasu’ don’t want to lose attitude), this country would be so very strong in the global arena of sports. Instead we get the 'manja', spoiled, complacent people representing our country in sports (there are a few exceptions)... but this is a topic for another discussion..

Love them Pirates!!

.....besides being a sports freak I am also a hardcore sports gamer on the Sony PS2. I bought Cricket 2005 yesterday and the beauty of living here in Malaysia is that a pirated game costs RM4 (equivalent to US$1) and it takes 2-3 days after the official launch for the game to get here. Now before you righteous MF's out there start lecturing me on Intelectual Property and Copyright infringement let me explain the economics of it...

In Short...

Original Game - RM180-RM200
Pirated game - RM4

Enough said....

can't wait for the Sony PS3 to come out... Sony will probably say that the games will not be piratable (statement was also made for the PS2)... but I'll bet my right testicle that eventually some ah-kau will be able to crack it...

And The Winner is.....

“….. Syd--de-neey… “....

Those were the words of ex-IOC head João Havelange over the Large projection TVs at Sydney’s Darling Harbour…. Reports said half a million people were out in the harbour that night awaiting the announcement… I was one of them… right after the announcement there were fireworks, everyone was hugging everybody else, I must have hugged close to 50 people…. the feeling was awesome, a sports mad city winning the Olympic bid… I felt at home…. I felt like an Australian (i.e. sports mad, laid back, beer/wine drinker)

We fast forward 12 years to 2005, an announcement will be made on my little island neighbour of Singapore by the IOC tonight…. the hosts of the 2012 Summer Olympics will be announced…. The finalists are London, Paris, New York, Madrid and Moscow.

The line up sounds like the who’s-who of the fashion world… not sporting world. I just hope the people in the winning city will embrace the Olympics like Sydney and Beijing…. I doubt it will be at the same level as the Sydney & Beijing but hopefully close… It would be a shame to see the biggest multi-sporting event in the world have little support from the locals…

Also these are some of the most expensive cities in the world. The Olympics is supposed to bring the world together but how many people/fans can actually afford spending up to 2 weeks in the cities??

Just my 2-cents worth… Anyway, I just hope the next Olympics will go to South Africa….

ps: I still have no motivation to work.... hence, this entry during office hours.... Anyone have any jobs in the sporting industry????????

Job Dissatisfaction

.......… I really don’t enjoy this anymore… I’m talking about Banking… The mundane office ritual of coming in at 9am and leaving sometime after 6pm is really getting to me… my brain isn’t challenged any longer… I am unmotivated and doing work just for the sake of it… I feel like a prostitute to the Bank… I come to work, get fucked, get paid and then I leave unsatisfied….

ps: for you guys that know my bosses.... somethings are better without their knowledge... this is one of them.

Thoughts from Last Weekend

Some things I realized this weekend…

(1) My interest in Formula 1 has finally started to wane… I have been a serious F1 fan for a long time, I have gone to every F1 race in Sepang, defended some of their decisions to change the rules, woken up at ungodly hours to watch races in North & South America but after the fiasco in Indianapolis, I didn’t even bother watching the race last weekend in France. I really tried to maintain my interest for the last 2 seasons but suddenly it was gone… The TV was on, F1 was on... but I wasn’t even watching… by the way, Alonso won…

(2) The World Pool Championships…. I can watch Snooker anytime but somehow watching 9-ball pool on TV doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t know why but it just doesn’t. To me its like watching a mini-golf (putt-putt) competition, I’d rather watch the real game.

(3) Southern Hemisphere Rugby still rules… watching the All Blacks trounce the British Lions and Australia beating France, southern hemisphere rugby is still as strong as before. The last World Cup was just a glitch and England was damn lucky to win it… actually Wilkinson won it…

(4) Lance Armstrong is set to win No.7… Overtaking Jan Ulrich on the opening stage time-trial was simply awesome and says plenty on his ambitions. Ulrich, perennial runner-up to Lance (5 times to be exact) started a minute before him as the 2nd last rider to start but had to contend seeing the backside of Lance for the final 3kms. Too bad Lance came in 2nd, 2 seconds behind the stage winner… it would have been nice to see him try to be the first start to finish yellow jersey holder in over 70 years.

Off the Grass...

Another Wimbeldon over and of the two singles champions one confirmed himself as greatness whilst another rekindled a career...

Lets start with Greatness.... How good is Federer on grass?? well, here are some stats and they definitely speak for themselves. His career Wimbledon record thus far of 125-4 with 3 titles... thats a 96.8% win rate for his career so far at the All England, he's won 21 straight finals (all tournaments), 36 straight matches on grass and the next two best players on grass have a 9-1 (Roddick) and an 8-0 (Hewitt) record against him on the surface..

Stats aside, just looking at him dominate Hewitt and Roddick in the Semi's and Finals was all that was required to see how great he is. Be it cross-court, volleys, passing shots, lobs, baseline rallys, whatever... Federer did it great, he made perfection look easy... Hewitt tried his socks off, so did Roddick but no way was anyone going to put thier hands on the trophy but Federer.. and to top it off it seemed like he did it with relative ease. He didn't sweat like Roddick, he didnt have to run around like Hewitt, he just covered the court with great efficiency that it looked all to easy...

Now the debate will begin amongst tennis 'experts' and weekend tennis players... Will Federer be the greatest ever? A huge topic of debate, similar to Tiger vs Nicklaus vs Palmer or Magic vs Bird vs Jordan... John McEnroe thinks "he's the greatest talent of all time", well everyone will just have to wait and see.. and not all of McEnroe's calls were always correct...

On to the Women's finals.... well, I actually missed the live coverage of the final (was stuck on the coverage of Live 8). Anyway, I've read internet reports, newspapers, etc and realised that I had missed and epic ladies finals match. Anyway, I will obviously catch a repeat telecast sometime this week.. but whatever it is Venus shines again!!... all I have to say is good for her.. she's been out of the limelight (tennis wise) but the past two weeks at Wimbeldon we saw a Venus of old... one that was truly dedicated on winning...

One final point of discussion... why do they still play the mixed doubles finals after the mens singles finals?? Its a pity to see good players like Bhupati and Pierce winning a grand slam in a half empty arena... dont they get it??.. people leave after the main event.. to me it should be played before not after the Mens finals... anyway, maybe theres a historic reason to it, who knows
..

Live 8.... Free Poverty!!

I'll continue with sports in my future entries but for those that had the staying power to watch through the Live 8 telecast, would probably agree with me that it was an awesome show. Perfect timing for a perfect cause.... Hats off to Bob Geldof.. yet again...

As I was watching Live 8, it just hit me.... only musicians can pull off something this huge for charity... I couldn't come up with any other profession capable of bringing the world together through a charity event... Sports celebrities can have charity events and friendly matches for charity but its simply not played on the same level.. For example a charity soccer match between the best of Europe and the Rest of the World would probably end up 4-all or 6-all and played in good spirits infront of 80,000 people.. but the truth is these games are just played at a "fun" level as these stars arent going to risk injury... and not many people would sit through an 11-hour telecast of one charity game after another... but you could sit through a whole lot of performances by musicians...

Also, musicians would actually perform alot better with 100,000 screaming fans bringing their adrenilin level to new highs... I doubt any of those who performed were holding anything back... they were just letting go having lots of fun for a good cause...

to me the performaces by U2, Maddona, Geldof were just awesome... even Green Day sent the right message... but nothing could top Nelson Mandela giving a speech for the cause and Geldof intoroducing an Ethopian girl that was saven from the original Live Aid....... for those who havent, go to www.live8live.com to support the cause..

Again.. well done Geldof and everyone who performed across the globe for Live 8... now lets hope the 8 men of G8 are actually listening...

As for me its back to sports after this... just had to give props to Live 8...

This Weekend...

Damn.. its been a hectic morning and I've just been able to check on last nights Wimbeldons results.. well Sharapova lost (Williams won) and the other Semi is suspended...

Anyway, this weekend I will concentrate my sports viewing to the following:

(1) Lance Armstrongs bid to win his 7th and final Tour de France. Personally, i'd like him to win it. He's done so much for cancer research he deserves a good farewell.. Anyway, Le Tour is never really decided in the first week what more the first weekend. Nevertheless, listening to Phil Liggert and watching Le Tour is top priority this weekend.

(2) Tiger Woods bid for US50 million
Will Tiger bring his total prize winnings over 50 million this weekend at the Western Open? Even if he doesnt do it this weekend (which is unlikely) he will definitely be the first ever golfer to win over US50 million in total prize money. He just needs US57,000.. All he has to do is make the cut and finish in a respectable position... and for the record he has only missed 1 cut in over 143 starts. Dont bet your house against it...

(3) Wimbeldon 2005
If it ever stops raining in England.... I would like to see if Federer can get a hattrick of Championsips (assuming he beats Hewitt). It should be an awesome semifinals nonetheless... and also if Venus can finally win again..

Besides that, I guess i'll just see what on tv and enjoy myself... I also plan to get off the couch and hit some balls be it golf, tennis or squash...

The Super Bowl Ring ... 01/07/2005 ... 12:07am

Dinner was good.. My wife cooked tuna & brocolli pasta (yes, I am married and thank god my beautiful wife understands my love and passion for sports).

Anyway, its midnight and the Womens Semis at Wimbeldon still hasn't started... Guess what?? Its raining in England... Not suprising... Anyway, at lease it gave me a chance to watch Sportscenter Asia.....

2 headlines caught my attention on Sportscenter.

(1) Brazil beating Argentina in the Confederation Cup finals convincingly without Ronaldo (who??). With Adriano scoring goals for fun who needs Ronaldo. Its no wonder Inter Milan will not sell him.

(2) Robert Kraft giving his Superbowl Ring to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Huh??... Yup, that was the reaction I gave. Why would an NFL team owner give his Superbowl Ring (encrusted with 124 diamonds) to the Russian President?? Does Putin even know who the Patriots are?? I reckon if he really didnt want the ring (which is crazy), auction it and donate the money to charity...

Also congratulations to Craig Biggio.... the man to be hit by the most pitches ever in modern day baseball.. That must be one of the most painful records in Cooperstown
