What Weekend??

For most people it’s the end of the working week. That would mean most people would go home this evening relaxed, excited and some really-really drunk as the weekend has started… but not us Bankers!! We go back pissed off (although some still do go back drunk), Why the hell do we need to work on Saturdays??

Firstly, Its inefficient as its for only half the day. Furthermore, for Corporate Banking people like me, we have no one to liase with, all our clients and lawyers don’t work Saturdays!! So whats there to do??? have a long breakfast and read the papers??...

The reasoning given by ‘higher authority’ is that people do banking on Saturdays…. C’mon, how many people actually do banking on Saturday?!?! Most people spend time with their families, asleep or playing golf on Saturday mornings not do Banking. I would rather do one of the three too... Even the civil servants work 5 days now!!

Also, by the time we get home on Saturday its around 3pm… have a shower, rest a bit, play with my kid… and the next thing you know its Sunday!!.. WTF!! I have to work again tomorrow?!?!? That’s not a weekend!! That’s a day off!!

ps: still not happy with my job and another reason for me to leave it.... why oh why did I specialise in Banking in University??... should have done something sports related
